Year 4's Ear Defenders

As our Sound unit in Science has drawn to an end, Year 4 have designed, created and evaluated some ear defenders. The purpose of these was to investigate a range of materials for how effective they were in sound-proofing. We considered lots of materials (thank you, parents, for providing so many reusable materials over recent weeks!), including polystyrene, plastic, cardboard, wood, wool, tissue and even nappy sacks (to hold all the loose materials together!). 

Check out the children's results below - they look very proud of their creations, and so they should be :)
