Welcome back for your busy Spring term of learning...

 We continue to have lots of staff members in our classroom to support you. 

Mrs Simmons and Miss Ward will be your class teachers and Mrs Coxon will be supporting you with lots of different activities. 

We have lots to look forward to this year such as Drama, Music and PE so our daily timetable may vary but here is an idea of what an average day will look like:

As we continue our build up to SATs we will be doing more Maths and English in the afternoon to support our revision. However, once SATs are over and done with (Hooray!) we will focus more on our writing and our foundation subjects. We will be looking at The Egyptians in History, Evolution in Science which will link to our Chester Zoo Trip and Changes in the local area in Geography. We also have lots of treats and trips to look forward to as well as our High School Transition Days.

In Year 6 children sit their Sats, which are tests all Year 6 children in England complete. These tests are important, but we don't want anybody to worry about them.  They are a long way off and when they do arrive we will be fully prepared and ready to try our best!

KS2 SATs Dates 2022 - Testing Period 9th-12th May

Monday 9th : Spelling, punctuation and grammar Test- Grammar/Punctuation- 45 minutes

Monday 9th : Spelling, punctuation and grammar Test- Spelling- 20 minutes

Tuesday 10th : Reading Test- 60 minutes

Wednesday 11th: Maths Paper 1 (Arithmetic)- 30 minutes

Wednesday 11th: Maths Paper 2 (Reasoning)- 40 minutes

Thursday 12th : Maths Paper 3 (Reasoning)- 40 minutes

 

Children have access to lots of websites that assist with their learning and revision to start preparing them for SATS. Children have their own logins for Spellzone, Studyladder, Prodigymaths and Google Classroom. If they can't remember these or you would like a copy of all of your child's passwords, please see one of the teachers.
