Inspiring Science Workshop - Year 6

As part of National Science Week we have been lucky enough to take part in a science workshop today hosted by Dr Buckley and Mrs Harvey from Inspiring Science. We began with a little bit of background information about astronaut Tim Peake.

Next we learnt about specialist equipment needed in space and the importance of water for  astronauts. Our first scientific task was to make 3 urine samples to show somebody who is hydrated, dehydrated and extremely dehydrated. After this we started to investigate the absorbency of nappies (similar to the ones used by astronauts when on their space walks).

We finished off by building our very own rockets. Perhaps we can have a competition to see whose flies the furthest.
