Year 6 Visit to Chester Zoo

What is evolution? How do we know that evolution happens?

Now that evolution is on the Key Stage 2 curriculum, year 6 decided the zoo was the perfect place to start learning. With a fantastic collection of artefacts and 20,000 animals which have evolved to live in different habitats they were able to bring the topic alive with living examples of evolution.

They also looked at variation, natural selection and how long it takes for species to evolve.
