Books! Books! Books!

As you know, Year 2, Miss Oakley loves to read.

During the summer holidays she even turned her spare bedroom into a Library.... she does have a lot of books!

She wants to know the books you love to read and what makes them so special to you.

Miss Oakleys favourite books when she was little were the 'Winne the Pooh' tales by A.A.Milne. Her mum and dad used to read them to her of a nighttime to get her off to sleep. She has continued to love these books and reads them to her goddaughters.

Her favourite books now are by Jane Austen, in particular 'Pride and Prejudice' and 'Sense and Sensibility'. They are set in the 18th century. What makes these her favourites is she studied them at school and has loved the stories/language/etiquette ever since.

Can you tell me which books you love to read and why?

My favourite book when I was little was Harry Potter (it is still one of my favourites now!) I think it's my favourite because I liked how Harry was an ordinary boy who became incredible! I am still waiting for my letter from Hogwarts...!

As you know I just love to read.
I will read just about anything! I'm looking forward to finding out what everyone else likes to read. I may even be able to buy more books.... How exciting!

Which book are you reading at the moment? I like to read in my back room where it's quiet... It's even better with a nice cup of tea!
