Easter Holiday Revision

Date: 1st Apr 2016 @ 1:52pm

Just incase you hadn't realised it yet SATs will soon be upon us! This is nothing to panic or worry about, but it will be very helful if during the holidays you spend a little bit of time each day revising. There will still be plenty of time to relax and have fun. We will be checking this blog each day during the holidays, so if you have any questions or perhaps you have found an excellent website for revision please let us know and we will do our best to answer you or share your websites.

UPDATE 07/04/16

Hope you are all enjoying the holidays.  @GHammondMaths has shared this fantastic revision guide for Year 6 SATs tests. He had broken down every question into different categories. He then created a PDF of each category where every question had a link to a YouTube video tutorial that he had created. Click below to open the list of PDF Files, choose your topic then have a go at answering the questions. Remember to click on the YouTube link if you need any help. Let me know what you think below.

When finding the area of a triangle do you times the length and width then divide by two or is that the perimeter? I have forgotten already.

Miss Oakley wrote:

You multiply the base by the height then divide by 2 Alice. Hope that helps, good luck with the revision.

Miss Piper wrote:

Thanks Miss Oakley and Alice please remember to use capital letters for your name! 😁

I am very proud of myself: I have filled in the revision book already! Honestly, I just wanted it over and done with!

Miss Piper wrote:

You've obviously had a very busy day Macey, well done. Just remember, it is better to spend a little bit of time each day revising than trying to cram it all in over one day. Enjoy the holidays!

Very true Miss Piper, it's the advice my mum and dad always gave. It does work wonders!

The year 6 children will be coming home today with a SPAG revision booklet. They can be used as both you and they see fit. There are answer sheets in the back which can be removed and used to mark at a later date, or kept in and used as a 'help' if necessary. If the children have any particular areas that they would like to go over again they simply need to bring in their book and let us know. We will happily go over any of these areas during our revision sessions which all children are welcome to attend.
